Now let's take a school subject, such as reading.
If you have been doing typical things such as worksheet activities, flashcards, phonic worksheets, word sorts, rhyming words, video games, alphabet chart drills, sight word activities, math facts, spelling lists, etc., but with no avail, it's not you or your child's fault.
It is a MYTH that these activities work. Why?
None of these activities present the material the same way it occurs in real life.
Your child’s progress is hindered because there is a disconnect between the way the child interacts with the information in the lesson, and the way they will actually use the information to read.
For example, in a worksheet your child is merely doing exercises on paper regarding reading, but is not doing real reading.
Just like riding a bike, the best way to teach a child to read is to physically show the child what to do during the real life activity. We can get a book and have the child read to us as we teach and correct the child along the way.
Young children learn best from real life experiences. Whether it is reading or riding a bike, if we want kids to learn successfully we must base all of our teachings on this very fact.
If you have a child approximately between the ages of 4 to 8 who has been continuously struggling with academics, and you have tried various homeschooling curriculums, programs, tutors, or aides on Amazon without getting the results you are looking for, you are finally in the right place!
