The Reading & Spelling Root-Cause Diagnostic is designed specifically for children who are smart and competent, yet haven’t clicked with conventional methods.
You will leave with a clear understanding of your child’s reading and spelling challenges and what needs to change so progress can finally begin.
During the diagnostic, we will pinpoint exactly where your child is struggling and why.
Your child will read a short passage they haven't seen before so we can see their current reading level in action. I’ll observe and analyze the mistakes, strengths, and strategies your child uses while reading.
If you have a sample of the target reading level you want your child to reach, you're welcome to bring it. We’ll compare your child’s current abilities to the reading and spelling level you hope they will reach, and identify exactly what needs to change to reach your goals.
We will also do a writing sample with your child. If you have a sample of your child's work that is truly their own (no adult help, not copied, not corrected) please bring it. If not, I can have your child spontaneously write something during the session, so we can analyze their natural spelling processes.
As your child read and writes, I will carefully observe their errors and successes. This observation helps identify their thought processes, strategies, and where support is needed.

With over 20 years of experience working as a certified teacher in early childhood and as a private tutor, I have successfully taught hundreds of kids to read & spell.
